- You know there's potential but don't have time to figure it out yourself
- You're tired of spending 60% of your time on writing instead of relationships
- You want systems that work, not theory about what's possible
You shouldn't come if:
- You're looking for AI to replace donor relationships (it can't)
- You want to "learn about AI" without implementing anything
- Your organization raises under $100K annually (you need fundraising fundamentals first)
AI for fundraising professionals workshop
A quick note on who we are
We're Zerrow. We are KPMG's technology solutions partner and have built software & digital systems for the Government of Alberta, Government of BC, United Way, City of Calgary, College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, Working Women Community Centre, and others.
We created this workshop because the fundraisers we talked to were frustrated. They'd tried AI. It wasn't working. Not because the technology was bad - because nobody had shown them how to make it fit the way fundraising actually works.
That's what this day is for.

Reconnect with Lapsed Donors

The Grant Draft That Doesn't Start Blank

- Matches your outcomes to funder priorities
- Drafts budget narratives that make sense
- Gives you a 70% draft in 20 minutes instead of starting from zero
Streamline Your Major Gift Prep
Prepare for your major donor meetings in just 10 minutes. Your AI system compiles essential information, including giving history, recent updates, and tailored conversation angles, all in a concise one-page brief.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about our workshop and how AI can enhance your fundraising efforts.
Do I need technical experience?
No. If you can write an email and use Google Docs, you can do this workshop. We handle the technical setup. You focus on the fundraising. What if I've already tried AI and it didn't work for me?
Good. That means you know what bad AI output looks like - the robotic language, the generic appeals that could be from any nonprofit, the drafts that take longer to fix than to write from scratch. That's exactly why this workshop exists. Generic prompts produce generic work. We build systems trained on your voice, your donors, your programs.I'm not sure AI can capture our organization's voice.
That's the point. The first thing we build is your voice profile - a system that learns your communication style from your actual donor appeals, thank-you letters, and grant language. What if I have more questions?
Feel free to reach out to us directly: [email protected]. We're here to help you understand how our workshop can benefit your organization.
How long is the workshop?
The workshop typically lasts for six hours hours, during which we cover all essential aspects of using AI for fundraising effectively.
Will this work for my type of organization?
We've had participants from human services, arts and culture, education, healthcare, environmental, faith-based, and community development organizations. The missions are different. The fundraising challenges are remarkably similar.
If you write donor appeals, apply for grants, and prepare for major gift meetings - this applies to you.
Our donor base is really relationship-driven. Will AI make our communications feel less personal?
The opposite, actually. Right now you're probably sending less personalized communication than you want to because you don't have time to customize every message.
The systems we build let you personalize at scale. The thank-you letter that references a donor's specific gift and connects it to a specific outcome - you can send that to 200 donors instead of 20 because the drafting doesn't take all week.
AI and automation handles the structure. You add the human touches.
We will show you how.
I'm the only fundraiser at my organization. Will I be able to implement this alone?
Yes. Solo fundraisers often get the most value because you're doing everything yourself. The systems we build are designed to be used by one person without IT support.
You'll also have 30 days of post-workshop support - Slack access and weekly Q&A calls - so you're not figuring out implementation alone.
What if I have a team? Should we all attend?
If budget allows, yes. Teams that attend together can divide the building and leave with more customized systems. They also implement faster because everyone understands how the tools work.
If only one person can attend, that works too. The systems are easy to share, and you'll have documentation your team can follow.
Can I expense this as professional development?
Yes. We provide a receipt and documentation suitable for professional development budgets. Many participants have had this covered by their organization.
If you need a letter for your ED or board, just ask.
What do I need to bring?
- A laptop (fully charged)and/or charging cable.
- 2-3 donor appeals or fundraising emails you've written
- One grant you're working on or planning to write
- Your donor database login if you want to test prospect research on real data
- A list of 3-5 prospects with upcoming meetings
The more real material you bring, the more useful your systems will be when you leave.
What if I can't share actual donor information during the workshop?
That's fine. We have sample data you can use to build and test your systems. You can plug in your real donor data after the workshop when you're working privately.
Is this virtual or in-person?
Virtual. You'll need a stable internet connection and a quiet place to work for the day. The format is hands-on and interactive - not a webinar where you can half-listen.
What if I have to miss part of the day?
Not to worry. All registered participants get their own link to the workshop recording.
How is this different from a prompting course or AI certification?
Those teach you how AI works in general. This workshop builds working systems for your specific fundraising job.
You won't learn prompt engineering theory. You'll build a donor appeal tool that works on your year-end campaign. The learning happens through doing.
